Sleep Lightly - A 2 min short on inside the mind of an epileptic whilst having a seizure
http://vimeo.com/14292920 My film aimed to show what it was like inside the subconscious of an epileptic seizure. How it can happen anywhere and to anyone. As I am epileptic I have a fair grasp of what that feels like on a regular basis. The running sequences intended to show how you can feel trapped and frantic while you have lost control of your body during a seizure. The song I used "Sleep Lightly" really inspired me for this short piece, I liked the suddenness/ creepiness of how it starts and interrupts the comfortable happy flow of the piano in the background creating the sense of uneasiness. The song really helps convey some of my feelings towards epilepsy, as I think people don't quite understand what really happens to a persons mind when they do seizure. My epilepsy tends to go into a dream like state in which I can still feel the presence of people around me. I feel lost, like in another world and I am fighting to find my way back. My first video that I made for a QUT assignment, was restricting because we couldn't use effects and came down to the editing and hoping I got all the right shots. I think it turned out great. first day of 2009
It was so hot today my god, made me realise just how much I miss winter. Can't wait to start uni. First resolution of the year, stop fucking smoking, how many times can one person quit something already. Got offered a job, hopefully it wasn't just the alcohol talking so I am looking forward to seeing how that works out, if at all. This is my year I am going to own this year wreeeeeeww! Its been 1 year since I split from my soon to be ex husband so wreeeeeeew again. Happy new year everybody! till tomorrow k8tie
